John Gilchrist (Chairman)
Former Chairman and Chief Executive of Leyland Trucks, with a career history of thirty years with Leyland Motors. Lead the management buy-out of the Company following the failure of the Dutch DAF parent company in 1993. Established Leyland Trucks Ltd and maintained production at the company’s sites, returning the independent company to profitability. Retired following the sale of the company to the Paccar Group in 1998. Chairman of the Board of Trustees.
John Aldridge (Secretary)
Transport journalist and former Editor of Leyland Journal for 6 years. Now writes about current road transport and its heritage. John is Secretary to the Board of Trustees
David Bennett
A qualified Architect and Associate of RIBA, David is a Consultant Director with Cassidy and Ashton of Preston, a practice responsible for many infrastructure and development projects in and around the area. He brings a wealth of experience, both creatively and in the expert overview of the design, and build processes of numerous projects.
Bill Robinson
Retired Director of Finance for South Ribble Borough Council. Bill brings a high level of expertise in dealing with local Authorities and Government agencies, central and regionally funded programmes. Bill is Honorary Treasurer of Lancashire Cricket Board.
David Mitchell
Owner of Direct Asset Management Ltd, involved in specialist vehicle fit-out and management. Former Engineering /Fleet Director with Lynx Express Ltd. Previously Fleet Engineer within NFC at BRS, Roadline UK and National Carriers
Stephen Bullock
A qualified Chartered Banker and Chartered Company Secretary, with nearly forty years business experience in financial services. Career includes twenty years as a CEO and executive Director of The Chorley and District Building Society, and periods as a non-executive Director within the financial services; technology; housing and education sectors, where he was either Chair of the Audit or Finance Committees. Currently Stephen is a non-executive Director of Lancashire Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, where he is Senior Independent Director and Chair of the Audit Committee, and also is a business advisor to SME’s.
Rick Roberton
Director and co-founder of Western Trucks Ltd which is the UK sole fully franchised international distributor for a leading North American truck manufacturer, the company is a major supplier and exporter to customers worldwide engaged in transport, construction, mining and oilfield industries. Rick has spent his working life directly involved in road transport industries: in international haulage, heavy duty truck engineering, and sales and marketing.
